Ministries of Healing

In the Diocese of Fargo, Project Rachel offers a network of healing ministries in the heart of the Catholic Church. All priests, counselors, and Gathering facilitators receive Project Rachel training in order to be referred by the Project Rachel Ministry in the Diocese of Fargo. The healing work begins with a call to a confidential, dedicated toll free phone number—1-844-789-4829. Calls are returned as soon as possible by a trained Project Rachel staff member who contacts the woman or man, gathers information, and helps discern the best path for healing.

Reconciliation

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is a sensitive, private, and confidential encounter with a priest who is the sign and instrument of God’s merciful love for the sinner. If you wish, you can be put in touch with a priest outside of your home community.

Rachel’s Vineyard Retreat

Rachel’s Vineyard is a weekend retreat that addresses the spiritual and emotional wounds of abortion. The time away from the daily pressures of work and family allows a person to enter deeply into the grieving process and identify all the ways the abortion experience may have affected you. 

The Gathering

Every month women who have begun their healing journey either through the Sacrament of Reconciliation or a Rachel’s Vineyard Retreat come together at a designated location to pray and share about the specific issues related to post abortion healing. These monthly gatherings consist of a half-hour mediation before the Blessed Sacrament followed by a share discussion.  Confidential registration required.  To register and learn location of meetings, please call 844-789-4829.

Post-Abortion Awareness Programs

A post-abortion awareness program is an educational and outreach effort to bring a face to those who have been wounded by the abortion experience. A Post-Abortive Ladies (PALS) panel share their personal experiences of loss, grief, regret, and the healing they have found in the forgiveness of Jesus Christ.
